We fly to Prague cheaply as part of a euro tour

Traveling in Europe is very cheap - for 10-30 euros you can easily fly from one country to another. Many low-cost airlines fly to the Czech Republic, so you can cheaply get to Prague from different cities in Europe. How do you like tickets for 700 rubles (one way) from Venice to Prague? Or from Paris for 1,700 rubles? And from Cologne for 2,400 rubles? There are many offers at such prices.

Conclusion: it is more profitable to visit several European cities at once in one trip than to fly to each city separately.

Our experience: as part of the euro tour in November 2017, we flew to Prague from Brussels for only 15 euros.

We fly to Prague on a low-cost airline

From Moscow

Some low-cost airlines fly from Russia to Europe. WizzAir - from Moscow to Budapest. "Victory" - from Moscow to Bratislava, Milan, Cologne. Other airlines also have promotions and cheap tickets to Europe.

There are two options to get there:

  1. Try to find cheap flights from your city to Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Munich, Dresden, Berlin. We arrive there, and get to Prague by bus for 10-15 euros. The other way around is the same.
  2. Find cheap tickets to the city from which low-cost airlines fly to Prague for a penny (see above). For example, we fly "Pobeda" from Moscow to Cologne or Milan, and from them to Prague for 20-30 euros.

Do not forget that the rules of low-cost airlines provide for free transportation of hand luggage only, and you need to pay extra for luggage, if any. So fly light - it's cheap and convenient! We do it ourselves.

Our experience... It was expensive to fly from Prague to Moscow on the dates we needed. But there were cheap air tickets from Bratislava - we bought them (1900 rubles). From Prague we got to Vienna by bus (12 euros, 4 hours), saw the capital of Austria, drove to Bratislava (5 euros, 1.5 hours), spent the night, walked around the city, flew to Moscow. Expenses - 3100 rubles. Saved and visited two more European capitals!

From St. Petersburg

Cheap flights to Prague are possible from the airports of Helsinki (Norwegian) and Riga (airBaltic). This option is suitable for those who live in St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Leningrad region. Tickets for direct flights of low-cost airlines start at 50 euros one way. With the current high euro exchange rate, this way to get to Prague will be profitable only if you can buy tickets for the promotion with a good discount. In other cases, for the same money, you can fly directly from St. Petersburg.

It is inexpensive to get to these cities by buses and trains. You can read more about this scheme of budget travel in this article.

Finding tickets for flights from European low-cost airlines is easy on Skyscanner.

Conclusions: the cheapest way to fly to Prague

  1. Muscovites and for residents of nearby cities, the easiest way is to wait for promotions and discounts and fly to the Czech Republic from the capital's airports. If there are no cheap tickets, but there is a desire to see other European cities, then you can fly to another city in Europe, from which you can inexpensively fly or get to Prague.
  2. For residents of St. Petersburg and North-West Russia first it is worth checking if there are cheap tickets from Pulkovo. If they are not there, then those who want to save money can get to Helsinki, Riga or Moscow and fly to the Czech Republic from there.
  3. Residents of other cities of Russia first, you should check if you can fly to Prague cheaply from your own or nearby cities. If there are no options, then it makes sense to look for cheap tickets from the capital's airports, and get to Moscow by train, bus or plane. An alternative option is to check if there are inexpensive tickets from your city to other cities in Europe, from which you can then easily, quickly and cheaply get to Prague.
